Electronic cigarette exploded very close to a baby"s car

The explosion of an electronic cigarette in the UK was very close to causing a tragedy. The owner of the device had it in his pocket when sparks of fire started, very close to the car where his baby was.

The security cameras at a shopping mall in the city of Leeds recorded the time when this man was talking to his partner. They went shopping with their baby, who was resting in his stroller. Suddenly, the electronic cigar he had ended up exploding in his pocket.


Alarmed to see his trousers burning, this man ran to get away from his son and at the same time he tried to get rid of the device. Experts explained that the explosion occurred after the device’s lithium-ion battery came into contact with another metal object, such as coins or keys. According to local media, the owner of the cigarette suffered only minor injuries.
