Una usuaria de Facebook llamada María del Mar publicó una imagen que parece mostrar el fantasma del fundador y máximo líder del Cartel de Medellín, Pablo Escobar, en la terraza del edificio donde vivió antes de su muerte. En la imagen, tomada a principios de esta semana, la figura fantasma se ve escalofriantemente similar a Escobar y parece tener su característico bigote y su misma barriga.

“Sé que no suelo publicar mucho, pero esto fue algo que me sorprendió mucho y no sé qué pensar”, escribió María del Mar en la descripción de la imagen. “Tomé una foto a este edificio y cuando la acerqué vi una figura humana. No sé si sea mi imaginación por saber la historia de este edificio, pero la verdad no sé qué pensar en este momento.”

Lo que no pensó María del Mar es que su imagen se convertiría en todo un fenómeno viral en Internet, compartida a través de las redes sociales y publicada en los principales medios de comunicación. Son muchos los internautas los que han dado su opinión sobre la misteriosa sombra en el balcón del infame inmueble. Los creyentes en lo sobrenatural aseguran que claramente se trata del fantasma de Pablo Escobar y de como este continúa estando muy presente en Colombia incluso después de muerto.

La imagen muestra el edificio Mónaco, una enorme mansión construida en los años 80 en el exclusivo barrio El Poblado, de Medellín, que incluye una piscina, pista de tenis y el garaje donde Escobar guardaba su querida colección de vehículos. Incluso había animales exóticos como un cocodrilo.

En 1988, los enemigos de Escobar detonaron dos bombas en este edificio. La primera dejó sorda a su hija, y la segunda provoco daños a sus coches. El garaje aún tiene agujeros provocados por esas explosiones, aunque lo más sobrecogedor de todo es que se dice que los fantasmas de los enemigos asesinados siguen muy presentes en el viejo edificio.

Aunque a parte del edificio Mónaco, los seguidores de Pablo Escobar, que murió a los 44 años, todavía colocan flores frescas en su tumba, ubicado en el cementerio Jardines Montesacro, Itagüí, al sur del Valle de Aburrá. Debido a que el líder del Cartel de Medellín era considerado por algunos como el Robin Hood colombiano, son muchos los que aún continúa teniendo autentica devoción por su persona.

Fue por este motivo que Federico Gutiérrez Zuluaga, el alcalde de Medellín, decidió el mes pasado que el edificio Mónaco fuera demolido para así construir un homenaje a las miles de víctimas del narcotráfico.
